Could It Be My Thyroid?

Did the title of this post catch your eye? Do you feel like you're running on empty? Have you experienced weight gain (or weight loss), cold hands and feet, hair loss, constipation, heart palpitations, depression, fatigue, decreased libido, insomnia and/or brain fog? If you're wondering if these or other aggravating symptoms are signs of your own thyroid dysfunction, the answer is a resounding yes, they certainly could be.

It is estimated more than 27 million Americans suffer from thyroid dysfunction and about 50% are not diagnosed. Women are ten times more likely to have thyroid dysfunction than men! It’s one of the most common conditions we see at Center for Nutritional Healing. Many people come to us for help whether they have been diagnosed with thyroid disease or not. Some are on prescription medication and some are not. We start with a comprehensive Nutrition Response Testing® evaluation and if we determine you are a good candidate, it is our believe nothing will help your health as much as committing to a nutritional program.

Nutrition Response Testing is a non-invasive system of analyzing the body right in the office. We're able to determine many things and put each of our clients on the road to good health. With thyroid dysfunction, there is likely one or more stressors affecting your thyroid: a particular food, an immune challenge, chemical or heavy metal stressors, even scars for example. Not only can we determine what is stressing the body, we can determine exactly what your body needs to heal in the form of gradual changes to diet and supplementation. Often, the thyroid needs "natural replacement parts" in the form of whole food supplements from a long established company called Standard Process. These natural replacement parts help rebuild the thyroid, giving it exactly what it needs, for example: minerals, essential fatty acids (good fats), iodine, or very possibly something else. Each individual is different.
