Tired, Bloated, or in Pain? Don’t Ignore Your Gallbladder 💡

If you – or someone you care about – suffers from bloating, constipation, diarrhea, yellow or tan stools, pain in the abdominal area, and/or trouble digesting fats, your gallbladder may be the missing piece of the puzzle.

The gallbladder’s primary role is to store bile, so it's ready when you eat fats. When you consume fat, your gallbladder squeezes out bile into the small intestine, allowing you to break it down and absorb essential nutrients. If your gallbladder isn’t functioning properly, fat digestion becomes difficult, and symptoms start to appear.

Unfortunately, the gallbladder is often overlooked until a person is in extreme pain, at which point the typical recommendation is surgery. But removing the gallbladder doesn’t fix the underlying issues that caused it to become inflamed in the first place. Fortunately, there’s much you can do to support your digestion and gallbladder naturally—before it ever gets to that point.

How to Care for Your Digestion (and Gallbladder) Every Day

A healthy digestive system starts with the basics:

âś… Hydration: Drink plenty of water throughout the day. I like to start my morning with 24 ounces of distilled water (with added minerals), the juice of one lemon, and three drops of stevia. This helps cleanse the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and digestive tract

âś… Rest: Most people need an average of 8 hours of sleep each night

âś… Clean Eating: Eat a whole-food diet while avoiding sugar, seed oils, and processed foods that are full of detrimental chemicals

âś… Digestive Support: Supplementing with enzymes, hydrochloric acid, choline and/or ox bile can be incredibly helpful for gallbladder function

Gallbladder Problems Are More Common Than You Think

Lately, I’m seeing more and more gallbladder-related issues in my office. If the root causes of gallbladder stress aren’t addressed, they can lead to problems in other areas, including the pancreas, liver, stomach, and intestines.

And even if you no longer have a gallbladder, it’s essential to understand why it was removed in the first place. The same stressors that damaged your gallbladder can continue to affect your body. These include:

  • Food sensitivities and intolerances

  • Immune challenges (viruses, bacteria, fungi, parasites)

  • Chemical toxicity

  • Heavy metals

  • Scar interference (on the surface of the skin)

  • Post-pandemic factors

If any of these root causes are still present, they can continue to create stress in your body and lead to new health challenges over time.
